Federal Labor MP, Libby Coker is urging community, sporting and environmental groups from the Corangamite region to submit Expressions of Interest for the Stronger Communities and Communities Environment Program Grants.
Expressions of Interest for both grants are currently open and available through Libby Coker’s website – they will close on 13 September 2019. Ms Coker said she was reaching out to the community to offer support for the many amazing community initiatives that take place across the region.
“I will be inviting groups to apply for the grants, which close 10 October 2019, so by sending me the Expression of Interest sporting, community and environmental groups can make sure I am aware of their projects.”
There is up to $150,000 available through both grants and up to twenty grants of $2,500 to $20,000 can be awarded (for each).
Libby Coker said it was important that anyone who is interested reads the grant opportunity guidelines prior to applying, as there were important conditions that needed to be met.
“While I want to make sure that we reach all possible groups with the information about these grants, I am keen to make sure that people understand the conditions of eligibility for making a grant application.”
Interested individuals and groups who are in the Corangamite electorate are encouraged to visit Libby Coker’s website at libbycoker.com.au for more information or to call the office on 5243 1444.
Libby Coker also reminded the community that the Local Sporting Champions Grants were also currently open and close on Monday 30 September 2019.
“These grants are so important for young athletes who are working hard to realise their dreams of competing at a national or international level. I am looking forward to awarding the grants to those young people who were successful during the last round in mid-September.”
