Nominations are now open across the Corangamite electorate for tree-planting funds as part of the commemorative recognition of the Jubilee of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

This national program aims to raise awareness of the Jubilee milestone and improve the nation’s environment by increasing the tree canopy.

Up to $100,000 of funding is available in the Corangamite electorate. Grant amounts ranging between $2,500 and $20,000 are available for projects that:

  • Plant regionally appropriate trees with an eventual mature height of two metres or more in a long-term position;
  • Conduct a formal commemorative event in association with the plantings; and
  • Install a Queen’s Jubilee plaque/sign.

Projects must be completed by November 2023 and a formal commemorative event must be held before the end of 2022.

The range of eligible entities is broad and includes (but is not limited to): incorporated not-for-profit community and environmental groups, schools and P&Cs, and local government. Please check 3.8 of the guidelines to determine your entity’s eligibility. Guidelines can be viewed here.
