A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will upgrade netball courts for the Grovedale Football Netball Club at Burdoo Reserve, with a $1 million funding commitment to modernise the facilities.

Federal Member for Corangamite, Libby Coker MP, made the announcement alongside players, members, and supporters at a packed club training session, pledging the funds would provide safer, more modern facilities for the club’s growing number of players.

Ms Coker said the investment is essential for supporting local sport and empowering women and young people to stay active.

"This funding is about ensuring our community has the facilities it deserves,” Ms Coker said.

“With safe, modern courts, the Grovedale Football Netball Club will be able to continue providing opportunities for participation, while strengthening our local sporting culture.”

"These upgrades are not only vital for today’s players, but for the future of netball in Grovedale and the region."

“Ensuring safe and accessible facilities will encourage greater participation and contribute to the overall wellbeing of our community."

The Albanese Labor Government’s $1 million commitment will ensure that the Grovedale Football Netball Club can continue to grow with safer, modern facilities, benefiting both current players and future generations.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
