Member for Corangamite Libby Coker today opened a new senior school learning centre at St Mary MacKillop Catholic Primary School which will improve student educational outcomes.

Ms Coker said work on the development project was delivered with support of Australian Government funding of $3.8 million through the Capital Grants Program.

“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered a new learning centre comprising of eight general learning areas with breakout spaces, landscaping, and a new basketball court,” Ms Coker said.

“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at St Mary MacKillop Catholic Primary School with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn.

“The Australian Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those across our region, get the best possible education.”

Ms Coker said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at St Mary MacKillop Catholic Primary School, as well as the many students who will follow in future years.

“Our Government strongly believes in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or to find a job,” Ms Coker said.
