Prime Minister Anthony Albanese joined Member for Corangamite Libby Coker in Clifton Springs this week to meet local first home buyers Brooklyn Saccetta and Lochie Dennert, who purchased their home through the Albanese Government's Home Guarantee Scheme.

Ms Coker said the couple's experience highlighted the difference the scheme is making for local families.

"We talked to them about what it means to be able to buy their own home - they've accessed the five per cent deposit scheme, they've bought their first home, they've worked really hard.”

Ms Coker said home ownership was providing security and confidence for the future.

"They actually said this is going to be a turning point for them. They now have their own roof over their head, close to where they work," she said.

More than 4,000 people across the Geelong region have already used the scheme to purchase their own home.

"It's a great outcome for Lochie and Brooklyn and we want more people across the region to take up this opportunity," Ms Coker said.

"We want more people to get into a home and we want more people to feel the security that comes with home ownership.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said more than 260,000 Australians had now purchased a home through the Home Guarantee Scheme.

"Housing is the key to security and opportunity, and we're determined to make home ownership a reality for more Australians," the Prime Minister said.
