Federal Member for Corangamite Libby Coker visited local Australia Post depots in Grovedale and Torquay recently, to thank them, prior to Christmas, for their dedication
“As we approach one of the busiest times of the year for Australia Post, we know employees are working seven days a week, around the clock, to deliver Christmas parcels,” Ms Coker said.
“I believe the greatest asset we have is our people, and Australia post’s 60,000-strong workforce prove that every day.
“I commend Australia Post for its commitment to service excellence and adaptability as it continues its modernisation journey.
“The Government is committed to ensuring that Australia Post remains a beloved and publicly owned institution that can deliver the services Australians need.”
An Australia Post spokesperson said temporary weekend deliveries were rolled out due to an increased number of online sales in the lead-up to Christmas.
Weekend deliveries will remain in place up until Christmas, depending on volumes.
