The deafening silence from Treasurer Josh Frydenberg on the closure of the ATO office in Geelong can go on no longer.
Last week I wrote to the Treasurer to express concern over the jobs that will be lost in our region if the Morrison Government goes ahead with the office closure.
Unfortunately, Mr Frydenberg has not responded to the concerns of Corangamite constituents.
My office has received numerous calls and emails from distressed workers and the silence from the Morrison Government is not good enough.
At a time when many people in our region are doing it tough, with many experiencing reduced hours of loss of employment, its unacceptable that the Federal Government would consider shutting the doors of this office.
