A 90-day independent review of the Infrastructure Investment Program will not affect the Albanese Government’s commitment to deliver Stage Two of the Barwon Heads Road upgrade.
Federal Members for Corangamite, Libby Coker, and Corio, Richard Marles, said the $125 million investment was a significant infrastructure investment for the region, and was not under threat despite incorrect claims made by a Federal Senator in local media last week.
“Minister King has already made clear that election commitments will not be effected by this review, Stage Two of the Barwon Heads Road upgrade is going ahead as has always been the plan,” said Ms Coker.
“I have not been quiet on this, the Barwon Heads Road duplication has been a key part of my advertising content over the past month leading up to the Budget, and I will continue to make sure that people across the region receive accurate updates on this project from their federal member.”
Public consultation on Stage Two of the Barwon Heads Road upgrade will commence shortly.
