MOBILE COVERAGE is set to improve across the Surf Coast and the Bellarine with leading tower provider, Indara, nearing completion of new mobile reception towers across the region.

Federal Member for Corangamite, Libby Coker MP, visited an Indara site in Armstrong Creek to chat with local workers about the long journey to better mobile coverage for the fast-growing region.

“I’ve been working closely with local communities in my electorate on their mobile and broadband connectivity issues since becoming the local MP in 2019,” Ms Coker said.

“They overwhelmingly agreed that mobile coverage is increasingly essential for our fast-growing region, so that we can all stay in touch with family, friends, and also for safety.”

“That’s why building strong relationships with Indara, our nation’s largest mobile infrastructure provider, and our telcos, has been a key focus of mine over the last few years, and to see their progress being rolled out across the Bellarine and the Surf Coast is really encouraging.”

“This is a positive step forward for our fast-growing region – with more to come from our government very soon.”

Indara CEO, David Evans, added that the tower provider is committed to delivering infrastructure in peri-urban locales like Armstrong Creek, Torquay, and across the Bellarine.

“Access to fast and reliable mobile coverage isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s a must. That’s why Indara is proud to be supporting improved mobile coverage and better connectivity to the communities of Corangamite,” Mr Evans said.

“Strong mobile coverage begins with a strong mobile tower network. Indara is one of Australia’s leading digital infrastructure providers, and we are driving Australia’s digital connectivity forwards with our growing network of 4,300 mobile towers.”

“We are excited to support Armstrong Creek with better, quicker, and innovative digital transformation infrastructure, now and into the future.”
