Tivoli Drive Needs An Upgrade
The main road into Curlewis is in desperate need of an upgrade in order to stop an accident from occuring in this fast-growing suburb.
The City of Greater Geelong have already reduced the speed from 60 km/h to 50 km/h on the road, and speed humps to slow down drivers are set to be built by December.
But residents say plans included in the Council’s own growth report indicate the road was always designed to be a boulevard style road like the neighbouring Centennial Boulevard.
The Council must take this opportunity to listen to residents and make the necessary upgrades to make Tivoli Drive fit for purpose.
As it stands, the road is no different to any other residential street in the development which is surprising considering it is by all accounts the designated ‘gateway’ to the community.
